Orchestr8 Upgrades AlchemyAPI
By Vivek Naik, TMCnet Contributor
Orchestr8 (News - Alert) has announced that it upgraded its AlchemyAPI content analysis online service, which primarily provides semantic tagging and text mining solutions, to include expanded language coverage with the addition of Portuguese and Swedish, enhanced text categorization, and integration with Linked Data standards.
"We're committed to supporting all of the world's major languages, and this update moves us significantly closer to that end-goal," said Elliot Turner (News - Alert), Chief Executive Officer of Orchestr8.
Officials at the company claim that the upgraded solution provides automatic tagging, capabilities which attach an identifier to a string of information for rapid recall; categorization and takes in data, recognizes it and appropriately classifies it. In addition, it performs semantic analysis, which scrutinizes and understands phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, signs, symbols, even grammar, and related structures.
"AlchemyAPI enables information providers to understand, organize, and better leverage their textual assets," said Turner. "Our AlchemyAPI service provides unmatched tagging performance and support for more languages than any other solution in the industry today."
The solution is a Web-based service that significantly boosts the quality of a publisher's content, and is tailor made for news aggregators, online publishing, and contextual advertising firms to understand and get advance visibility on profit margins for online content.
The solution is available as both a free online API and commercial subscription service and the updated version also includes a text categorization service.
The new release also provides integrated support for Linked Data standards and RDF (Resource Description Format) semantic Web standards, and integrates content links to online databases such as Wikipedia, GeoNames, and The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) World Factbook.
"By interconnecting with assets in the Linked Data cloud, publishers gain access to a huge volume of highly-relevant information, further enhancing the value of their content," said Turner.
